Globewise Privacy Statement

Globewise is a Dutch non-governmental organization (NGO) that provides financial support to educational projects. Its mission is to increase access to education for children and young people in developing countries, with a primary focus on Africa and Asia.

Globewise highly values the protection of your privacy and the security of personal data. Therefore, we handle this information with care. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We store the personal data we receive, including information submitted when you fill out a form to become a donor, subscribe to a newsletter, or contact us via phone or email. We collect and retain the following personal data:

Name, Address, and Place of Residence
Phone number (mobile and/or landline)
Email address
Financial details related to payments and donations
Feedback and communication that you share with us
Your interests and profile data if collected or recorded for fundraising purposes

Facilitating a project you (partially) fund

We anonymize personal data as much as possible. In our analyses, your data remains unidentifiable.

Globewise collects data only from you, not from third parties. We handle these personal data confidentially, storing them in a secure third-party database. These third parties may process your data only for the services agreed upon with Globewise.

In certain cases, we work with external parties, such as partners and other NGOs. They may use this data only for services that benefit your donations or project. Globewise is not responsible for how these parties handle your data.

Additionally, through the use of our websites, we may share data with parties that are independently responsible for processing, such as Facebook or Instagram. They handle your data under their terms and conditions.

If Globewise is ever legally required by government authorities or other entities to share your data, we will only share the strictly necessary information.

Data Security and Retention Period

Globewise does not retain your personal data longer than necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected. We have a general retention period of at least 7 years, allowing us to keep you informed of developments within Globewise.

You may view, correct, or update your personal data, and you may also request deletion or limited use of your data. If you have questions or comments regarding the processing of your personal data, or if you wish to review or delete your data, please contact us by email. We will respond as promptly as possible, within four weeks. Should you wish to delete your data, we will first verify whether this is legally permissible. If we are not legally allowed to delete your data at that time, we will inform you and indicate the earliest possible date for deletion.
